OMG! It’s November! Halloween has come and gone. Leaves are changing colors, the cool wind is blowing and it brings with it memories of summer. I had the best summer ever educating and having fun with the kids at Chicago Lights Urban Farm Summer Camp. We composted, turned soil around, planted seeds, harvested, made art pieces and even got ourselves wet on hot summer days!
On the last day, kids performed and one of our little chef taught us how to make a healthy salad. As you can see from the picture above, it was a lot of fun. Giving back and educating kids from low-income communities is so much important if we want to create healthier families.
If an opportunity like this knocks on your door, take it because not only will you make a difference but it will change your life as well.
Keep on greening,
